As promised — Mark Shuttleworth answers the question!

Linkage:

It was a lot of fun to hear Mark talk about what it’s like being a cosmonaut, and about his vision for how free software can impact the developing world. Cheers to the awesome people at the Legion of Tech for putting together the event, and for providing the opportunity to talk with Mark in person.

PS: This was my first video interview, and I’m keen for feedback — what can I do better next time?

Nicely done, Peat! Congrats on the first interview of The Project.

The sound was difficult to hear at times. Perhaps a wind screen and/or external mic would help reduce the noise and focus the sound at the interviewee.

The opening shot was a bit indecisive. Do you want both you and the interviewee in there? Only you?

I look forward to more interviews!

    Thanks John!

I totally agree on the sound — if anyone can give me tips on how to cut wind or background noise in iMovie, I’d be super appreciative. The sound is from the built in mic on the Flip recorder … maybe I can build a wind screen or something for it.

    I’m learnin’ as I go!
